Orders and accounts
When you place an order, we collect the information you provide at checkout, including your name, email address, billing address, any delivery details, phone number if provided, and order information. We use it to process your order, arrange pickup or delivery, provide customer support, and maintain business records. Payment details are processed through the payment service shown at checkout.
Our store uses cookies to remember items in your cart. If you create an account, we store your account and order information so you can sign in and review your purchases. Service providers supporting hosting, payments and order fulfilment may process the information needed to provide those services.
Woof Pack newsletter
If you sign up for the Woof Pack, we collect your email address and your consent to send newsletters, product news, promotional offers, discounts and promo codes. We use Brevo to host our signup form, manage subscriptions and deliver these emails. Subscription requires confirmation by email. Brevo records subscription and confirmation activity, delivery events and, where enabled, email opens and link clicks, including associated technical information such as IP addresses. We use these records to document consent and assess email delivery and engagement.
You can unsubscribe using the link in our marketing emails, our unsubscribe form, or by contacting WoofPack@dogzillatreats.ca. After unsubscribing, we may retain limited information to record your withdrawal and prevent further marketing emails. Buying treats does not automatically subscribe you to the newsletter. Brevo and its service providers process information under their privacy terms; see Brevo’s privacy policy.
Card payments and e-Transfers
Card payments are processed by Square. Square receives the payment details and transaction information needed to process your payment, prevent fraud and provide its services. Our order records may contain a transaction reference and limited card information, such as the card brand and last four digits. Please see Square’s customer privacy notice.
If you pay by Interac e-Transfer, we use the payment notification and transaction details supplied by the banking service to match your payment to your order. Please include your order number rather than additional personal information.
Product reviews
When you submit a review, we collect the information in the review form, including your name, email address, rating and review, together with technical information such as your IP address and browser information for moderation and spam prevention. We use purchase records to check review eligibility. Approved reviews, ratings and the display name you provide are public; your email address is not displayed.
If Gravatar is used to display a profile image, a hash of your email address may be shared with that service. See Automattic’s privacy policy.
Cookies and saved preferences
WooCommerce uses cookies to maintain your cart and session. Account cookies help you stay signed in, including when you choose “Remember Me”. We also save newsletter popup preferences in your browser so that we can respect “Don’t show this again”. These preferences apply to that browser and device.
You can manage cookies and website storage through your browser. Clearing or blocking necessary cookies can empty your cart, sign you out or affect checkout. Clearing saved website preferences can cause the newsletter popup to appear again.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics through Site Kit to understand how visitors find and use the site and to improve it. Analytics can collect page views, interactions, referring websites, approximate location and device and browser information, using cookies or similar identifiers. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
Google processes analytics information under its privacy terms. See Google’s privacy policy and Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Signup protection and embedded services
Our newsletter form uses Google reCAPTCHA to help prevent automated abuse. Google may process technical information, including IP address, browser and device information and interactions with the form, to assess whether a request is legitimate. See Google’s privacy policy.
Embedded forms and other third-party content may communicate directly with their providers and use cookies or similar technologies. Those providers process information under their own privacy terms.
Service providers and information sharing
We use service providers for website hosting, payments, email delivery, newsletter subscriptions, analytics and spam prevention. They receive information needed to provide those services. Information may be processed outside Canada and may be subject to the laws of the country where it is processed.
We may also disclose information where required by law or where necessary to protect the security of our website and investigate suspected fraud.
Retention and security
We retain order and payment records for business, accounting and legal purposes. Account information is retained while the account is maintained, and reviews may remain published until removed. Newsletter consent and suppression records may be retained to document subscription choices and prevent unwanted messages.
We use access controls and secure connections to protect information. You can contact us to ask about the information we hold and request deletion of information that is no longer needed, subject to applicable recordkeeping and security requirements.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can view and update account information through My Account. To request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, or to raise a privacy concern, email orders@dogzillatreats.ca. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Certain information may need to be retained for legal, accounting or security reasons.
Newsletter subscribers can unsubscribe at any time using the link in their emails or by contacting WoofPack@dogzillatreats.ca.
